Charlie’s Journey in Motorsport

Charlie’s love for racing started at the tender age of 4, and since then, he has steadily climbed the ranks of junior racing. Competing in the British Talent Cup, Charlie consistently demonstrated exceptional skill, earning himself a solid reputation and the interest of racing teams eager to support his talent on stock bikes.

Currently riding for the Sym Sirrus team, Charlie has achieved significant success over the past few seasons. His 2022 season was particularly remarkable, coming close to clinching the championship on his 400cc bike. Now, Charlie has stepped up to the more challenging 600cc class, continuing to push his limits and excel in this competitive field.

Balancing Work, Racing, and Passion

Beyond the racetrack, Charlie’s commitment is unwavering. Having completed school and college, he now balances work with his racing aspirations, pouring his efforts into building a financial reserve to fund his passion. His family also makes tremendous sacrifices, foregoing luxuries to help him continue on his journey.

Motorsport is an expensive pursuit, and for up-and-coming racers like Charlie, the costs quickly add up. From bike maintenance, parts, tyres, and insurance to team entry fees for the British Superbike (BSB) rounds, the financial burden is immense. It hasn’t been without its difficulties—mechanical issues with a new bike and adjusting to a more competitive class have made for a tough season. But Charlie’s resilience, work ethic, and dedication to improving the bike alongside his team have never wavered.

Looking Ahead to 2025

While the 2023 season presented its share of obstacles, it has only fuelled Charlie’s determination to come back stronger in 2025. His attitude towards overcoming setbacks and continuing to develop both himself and the bike has been truly inspiring.
